Replacement of Forward Hatch on T37 Submitted by: Tad McDonald October 2, 2006 Notes: The lip upon which the standard hatch sits was cut away with a sawsall (a Fein tool wasn’t manly enough) then the new hatch base was ground down and the inside edges of the hatch aperture were routed. Because the new hatch has radii’d corners, small corner pieces were fitted to provide additional bedding surface in each corner. The resulting opening was then glassed and gel coated followed by the final attachment with silicone and screws. One of the photos [cleverly] shows a profile view of my new hatch in the foreground and a standard T37 in the background (my neighbor, September Song).
