Tayana V-42 Chainplate Access (1982 Center Cockpit RESTLESS) Since I had my boat built with access panels to each of the chainplates, I have taken a series of pictures to help others locate their internal chainplates. Pictures show: 1) an overall view so chainplate position can be determined 2) closer views to show the shape of the chainplate itself 3) sometimes an angled view so all the bolts can be seen 4) views of chainplate access panels. If an owner has to cut into joinerwork to access the chainplates, this will help with fabricating covers. Note that the chainplates are on the side with the bolt head. The side with the nuts is the backing plate. That plate need not be removed to change the chainplate. For additional help or higher resolution pictures, E-mail me at wstrausbaugh@suddenlink.net.
