Advice on installing an Autopilot Linear Drive Unit Jim, You may be interested in these photos. T37 #588, Rick Cheungrick cheung I plan to install autopilot as well so I went to see Ian's boat's setup went I was at Ta Yang a couple of days ago. The mounting plate is a very strong and a easily reversible setup that I like. It does not involve cutting or clamping the rudder stock and provide a big area for selection of attachment point of the arm .In the T37 the space between the hull and the quardrant is very tight so the arm may not even have to attach 'neatly' in the mid point of the mounting plate but dependent on mainly the travel of it. I found that the yard has installed Edson steering system on my boat but not theTaiwan knock off some of you have so I am very happy to see they do have made improvement on equipment spec. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx T37 #588 Rick Cheung Thanks Rick! I like the way they "beefed up" the Quadrant with that mounting plate instead of just using an Edson arm on the rudder post. Looks like it might save the trouble of drilling and tapping holes for the Edson arm "set screws". Jim Hampson
